Common Misconceptions Of Carpet Cleaning

Many companies & homeowners not aware or choose to ignore on carpet care, so here we gather the common misconception to carpet cleaning.

Misconception # 1“It’s ok to wait for cleaning the carpet, and its the last thing we need to do”
This is a BIG NO. Dirt is an abrasive and it damages your carpet like sand paper rubbing your carpet every time you step on the carpet fibers. This causes the carpet to wear out faster.

Misconception # 2 – “Vacuuming the carpet is enough to clean and keep it hygiene”

Answer is obviously wrong. Even constant vacuuming doesn’t do the job to remove the small particles, sands, dirts, stains, germs, bacteria or dust mites. The longer you wait to have your carpet cleaned with profesional carpet cleaners, the more damage you do to it and your home or office becomes more unhygienic.

Misconception #3 – “The only reason I clean the carpet is to remove the dirt.”
This is absolutely not true. The air whether your in indoor or outdoor contains pollen, fungus, bacteria, air pollution, cigarette smoke, car exhaust—and hundreds of other chemicals. When we walk in to office or home, those pollutants are carried in on them and usually end up in your carpet, and the aircond circulates these pollutants, germs, bacteria inside your office and remain in contacts to your carpets. If you have allergies, asthma, emphysema, or other breathing problems – one major source of your problem could be the pollen, fungus, pet dander, and chemicals in your carpet.

Misconception #4 – “The best method of cleaning carpet is carpet shampooing or bonnet buffing.”
The answer to this is no. With new technology, now there are multiple methods of effective carpet cleaning available in the market. The best methods are recommended by the big carpet manufacturers such as Shaw carpet and methods of cleaning approved by the IICRC – the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification. The best carpet cleaning companies are those that are using the methods recommended by major carpet manufacturers and IICRC, that is Hot Water Extraction Cleaning or also known as Steam Extraction Carpet Cleaning.

Misconception #5 – “The company that offers the lowest price is the company you should hire.”
This is the biggest misconception of all. Some carpet cleaners throw prices just to get a job but in the end they do half past six job and even some retorts to charge you extra when they doing the job by upselling other services that should be part of the carpet cleaning. Please don’t engage carpet cleaning companies that offers cheap but don’t do professional carpet cleaning suppose to be doing. Please ensure that they are professional carpet cleaners that have an office and represent the actual carpet cleaning company.

We know it’s hard to find the truth in facts about carpet care, but what we need is informed decision. To be safe, always insist on a Quotation or Estimate from the professional carpet cleaners before any work is performed and this is sufficient to protect you as a consumer. Don’t fall for drop prices or cheap carpet cleaning, we have even an instance of one carpet cleaning company using house detergents that can be harmful to carpets to clean. So look for a company that is not advertising a price that seems too good to be true….. it always unfortunately is.
